Preserving Tradition, Creating the Future
International Ballet Competition

Marius Petipa was a defining figure of an era in Russian ballet.

By harmonizing music and choreography, blending the charm and elegance of France with the spirit of Russia, he choreographed over 60 ballet works.

He is known as the "Father of Classical Ballet" for establishing the stage forms and styles that define what we now call classical ballet, shaping the future of the art.

The theme of this competition is to preserve the tradition established by Marius Petipa, which laid the foundation of classical ballet in the modern era, and to continue its development into the future.

By preserving tradition, we believe that ballet dancers can understand their identity within history and progress in the right direction.
